Leaving LA
Today was my last day riding before hitting the road.
I rode 57 miles in all, from Topanga beach north on the PCH , climbing up Latigo Cyn, then traversing Mulholland Hwy to where it ends at Leo Carillo state beach. Then back down the coast highway. I felt a lot stronger than the first time I tackled Latigo Cyn (it's a very long climb), so I am encouraged that I won't be suffering too much during the first days of the tour.
These last 2 weeks have been very hectic, wrapping up loose ends and squeezing in training rides in between work days. I will be glad to be on our way, riding everyday, less multi-tasking.
Here's a crappy photo of my bike. It's a Somec from the early/mid 80's. (more on the bike later)
