Week 5
Today is the first day of week 5 of the trip. 69 miles, 4 hours, 36 minutes. Pretty straightforward. A brief climb out of the Strawberry valley, a nice 7 mile coast down into a high desert landscape, then rolling hills for the remaining 50 miles into the town of Roosevelt.
Rolling downhill, leaving the high grassy Strawberry valley.
Crazy rocks in Utah.
It's fun to coast for 10 minutes and just watch the scenery roll past.
Pre-fab log cabins? weird.
More ag. stuff than you'd expect in this hot arid place, although I'm sure there's plenty of snow here during the winter months.
Huh?
Everybody up here is a rancher.
Getting drier and drier.
A local John Deere dealership.
While I'm a little sad we're so far north as we cross Utah (we'll miss all the spectacular landscape of the southern part of the state) I'm glad to see little bits of flavor like these crumbling red boulders.

HYDRATE!!!
Okay, now that that's out of the way, I can tell you to eat yummy food for me, and pretend I'm standing on the shoulder every so often, hand outstretched, ready to administer a high five as you pass at 36 mhp.
Whoo-hoo,
miss alie
you mean that wasn't you standing on the shoulder? oh s@*t. High fives at 36 mph sting pretty good.
